The Synthetic File System is the logical gateway to all symbols, objects and logic of a Stored Purpose system. It is the information conduit between timespaces and two radically different information models, Construction and Expression. It makes Translation possible. On one side, processes must read and write Platonic Form data, which is symbolic and relative. On the other side, processes must read, write and sequence discrete object states and their consequences across all time.

Figure - Resource Synthetic File System<br />Each agent’s Gia processes will be granted access to all symbols, objects and logic known to the agent’s Identity by the SFS.  Read and write access to these will be served by the metacomputer as a subset of the master SFS, specific to the agent “resource”.

The synthetic file system represents the aggregate resources available to the network in both timespaces. When an agent is instantiated, its symbols are registered with the SFS and linked with metacomputer objective data, including technologies. This makes it possible for an agent of the system to think about a door and a symbolic transition from closed to open, and have links to the device capabilities available to the metacomputer, to both sense and control door transition state.
